Description
Tiny House Build Intensives
Important: These are not beginner workshops. Each session moves at a working-build, feet-to-the-fire pace in order to complete a major phase of the project. Students must have completed Intro to Carpentry or Carpentry II, Woodworking for Women, or have equivalent carpentry experience and be comfortable using power tools safely and independently.
Framing Intensive June 20 & 21,
Build the shell. Learn the structure.
This fast-paced, hands-on intensive focuses on framing the tiny house shell — the structural work that makes the rest of the build possible. Students will work through the core carpentry principles behind layout, wall framing, openings, and assembly while gaining real experience in how a structure comes together.
This workshop is ideal for students interested in tiny houses, homebuilding, accessory structures, or the building trades.
Exterior Siding, Windows & Doors July 18 & 19,
Close it in. Weather it tight.
In this hands-on intensive, students will focus on the exterior details that protect the structure and make it functional: siding, windows, and doors. This session covers the practical work of closing in the build while developing real-world carpentry skills in fit, finish, and weather protection.
A strong workshop for students who want to better understand exterior building systems and gain useful experience applicable to sheds, cabins, additions, and full-size homes
Insulation & Wall Finish Aug 15 & 16,
Make it efficient. Start making it livable.
This intensive takes students inside the shell to focus on insulation and wall finish — two essential steps in turning a framed structure into usable living space. Students will learn how these elements affect comfort, efficiency, and the overall feel of the interior while taking part in the work firsthand.
This workshop is especially valuable for students interested in sustainable building, small-space design, and understanding what makes a house work from the inside out.
Interior Trim & Cabinets Sept 19 & 20
Finish the space with skill and purpose.
This fast-moving intensive focuses on the finish work that gives a tiny house function, beauty, and character. Students will work on interior trim and cabinetry while exploring the thoughtful use of space that small-footprint living demands.
A great fit for students interested in finish carpentry, woodworking, built-ins, and the details that make a space both practical and well-crafted.
