Description
Mill Hollow Works’ annual Celebration of Heritage Craft is a community-wide field day devoted to the handmade, traditional skills, rural living, and the people who keep this knowledge alive.
Created from a vision of bringing our community together around the enduring value of working with our hands, the Celebration highlights heritage crafts, practical skills, sustainable living, local makers, and the back-to-the-land traditions that have long shaped our region.
Throughout the day, craftspeople will bring their work to life through demonstrations, conversation, and hands-on experiences. Visitors will be able to watch skilled makers at work, ask questions, explore tools and materials, and try traditional techniques for themselves. Specific demonstrations and workshops will be announced closer to the event.
The day will also feature local artists and craftspeople, handmade goods, food, farm animals, and opportunities to explore the Mill Hollow Works campus. Returning this year, JD and the Stonemasons will fill the farm with their rollicking traditional music.
More than a marketplace or a series of demonstrations, the Celebration of Heritage Craft is intended to feel like an old-fashioned community gathering: a place where neighbors, families, makers, farmers, students, and the craft-curious can come together, learn from one another, and celebrate the character of the Monadnock Region.
At its heart, the event reflects Mill Hollow Works’ belief that traditional skills are not relics of the past. They are living knowledge—capable of strengthening families, supporting local economies, building resilient communities, and helping people create more connected and self-reliant lives.
