Description
We are officially taking over the Greenhouse behind our workshop, and are looking to create a special community resource – a Community Greenhouse! You can buy into the Greenhouse through purchasing this initial Membership Buy-in here.
Our mission fueling this community greenhouse is the investment and promotion of sustainable local food systems – to do that effectively long term means this Community Greenhouse needs to be sustainable – so we’re working to build a solid foundation that will support this program for many growing seasons. You have a wonderful opportunity to get your roots in and help it grow and evolve. Members are required to buy-in to this program with an initial payment of $100. This payment includes the cost of the provided soil, cost of the mandatory “Growing in a Greenhouse 101” workshop – setting us up with a successful communal growing season and healthy ecosystem free of disease and pests (taught by Horticulture Scientist Jack Lamont of Frog Belly Farm) – and helps subsidize other running costs. If this buy-in cost is prohibitive for you please get in touch with us to make alternate arrangements (such as spreading the payment out monthly as an addition to your monthly membership fee, and/or work barter). Once this buy-in fee is received, Members will be emailed additional set-up instructions including Greenhouse access, making monthly membership payments (with auto withdrawal option) and date options to attend the “Growing in a Greenhouse 101” workshop.
