Get ready to make your own custom yarn in this Drop Spindle Workshop, “From Fluff to Stuff”! In this beginner-level class, you’ll learn to spin your own yarn using a simple tool called a drop spindle.
This workshop will cover: the basics of various plant and animal fiber types, preparing fiber for spinning, and the basics of how to start spinning yarn (pre-drafting and staple length, attaching a leader, ‘parking,’ etc.), as well as potential problems and how to fix them. No previous experience is required for this class. All are welcome!
Drop Spindles will be available on location for students use (and purchase), but you’re welcome to bring your own. Wool provided by Wonderland Yarns.
All tools and materials included $45 (includes cost of wool fiber, students will be leaving with their own handmade yarn)
