Our Pajama Pants: Machine Sewing & Pattern Reading, covers exactly what it says! Students will learn how to work on a sewing machine and how to read and use a sewing pattern, in addition learn to make basic fit adjustments. These essential skills set students up to make custom garments and more! This class will cover the basics of using a sewing machine including threading, sewing straight lines and curves, basic troubleshooting, and tension adjustments as well as basic garment construction.
We will be making pajama pants to get you up and going on a sewing machine. Bring your own portable machine or use one of ours! You will leave the class with the skills to continue sewing at home, as well as a completed pair of pajama pants, a pattern, and resource lists so you can continue your sewing journey.
All supplies will be available, however it is best if you come to class with your own supplies (bare minimum supplies needed : 3.25 yards woven fabric such as flannel (recommended) or quilting cotton (you can also use a full size or larger flat sheet), 1 package of 1.5″ wide elastic (you will need enough elastic to fit comfortably around your waist), a spool of thread, at least one bobbin for your sewing machine, at least 2 yards of drawstring, twill tape, or soft ribbon no more than 3/4″ wide, and pins.
